Who we are

A specialty retailer that also does the installing.

Bellingham Mailbox was founded with a simple goal: helping customers find secure, durable mailbox solutions they can trust. We offer a curated selection of mailboxes, parcel mailboxes, mailbox posts and accessories chosen to improve mail security, simplify installation and stand the test of time.

Unlike general home improvement retailers, our product recommendations are backed by hands-on installation experience. We work with homeowners, property managers, HOAs, apartment owners and contractors, which gives us firsthand insight into what actually performs in the real world.

Our online store serves customers nationwide. Alongside it we provide professional installation, post replacement, custom mounting and code-compliance expertise throughout Whatcom and Skagit County, Washington.

Our team

A small crew that does its own work.

Bellingham Mailbox is deliberately small. We are mailbox specialists rather than a general trade, and we are not a network of subcontractors — the team that takes your call is the team on the driveway.

Between us we have pulled, set and repaired boxes on single driveways, apartment blocks and whole cul-de-sacs across Whatcom and Skagit County. That is the advantage of buying from a specialist instead of an aisle: what we recommend is what we have watched hold up in the weather, on the street, for years.

One team, start to finish

The crew that quotes your job is the crew that shows up to do it. Nothing gets handed to a subcontractor you have never met.

We do our own installs

Removal, footings, posts, mounting and numbering are all in-house, so the advice on the product page comes from the same hands that set it.

We stand behind the work

If something settles, sticks or stops latching, call us. We come back out.

How it goes

What an install actually looks like.

1. We pull the old one

Rusted boxes, leaning posts, doors that stopped latching years ago. They come out and leave with us.

2. We dig and form

The footing is dug and formed to suit the soil, the slope and whatever utilities run underneath.

3. We set it in concrete

A post is typically set 24 inches deep in concrete, then left level and square.

4. We set it to USPS spec

41–45 inches from the road surface to the point of mail entry, 6–8 inches back from the curb, numbers on. Measured before we leave.

Compliance

The part nobody wants to think about.
